Comments:- Recording of a performance at the MET (6 December 1947). See «Saturday Afternoons at the Old Met» pp.317-318. The recording issued by the GOmega Opera Archive is listed in their online catalogue (see CLORLINK.HTM). The source is described as «Fair to good private acetates. Missing 30 sec Beg. Act 2» and the conductor is incorrectly stated to be «Busch». However, according to «Annals of the Metropolitan Opera» the conductor was Max Rudolf. It is stated in «Saturday Afternoons at the Old Met» (p.317) «the opera was assigned to Busch, but illness compelled him to relinquish it to Max Rudolf». Omega has issued another recording of this performance (480 & 411) and the conductor is listed correctly as Rudolph in their catalogue.

Comments:- This recording is stated in the Standing Room Only, Lyric and HOO catalogues to be of a performance in Philadelphia on 2 December 1969. However, although Tebaldi and Corelli are listed in «Tebaldi - The Voice of an Angel» p.252, «Corelli - A Man, A Voice» p.266 and Frank Hamilton's website «Franco Corelli - Discography of Opera Performances» as performing La bohème in Philadelphia on this date the rest of the cast given in all 3 publications is quite different. Premiere has issued CDRs which are claimed to be of the performance on 2 December 1969 and the partial cast given corresponds to the cast listed by Frank Hamilton. This recording is listed separately. I have been unable to find any performance of of La bohème with the partial cast given by Lyric, SRO, and HOO (and above). The Compact Cassettes issued by Lyric are included in their «New Listings - November/December 1990» and the CDRs issued by House of Opera are included in the list of new releases added to HOO's website in December 2003 (12-22-2003)
