Comments:- Recording of a performance at Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires (30 June 1968 or/and 21 June 1968 (M. Richter); see OPERA, September 1968 p.719). Both Bartoletti and Martini are given on the Teatro Colón website, but it is not stated which performances each of them conducted (click link below). It is possible that the recordings issued on the different labels are of different performances.

Comments:- The CDR issued by Premiere is listed in their printed catalogue as being «New» in «Fall 2001» and is attributed to Philadelphia (2 March 1972). The partial cast is given as «Tucker/Kabaiwanska/MacNeil/Cossa» but according to Frank Hamilton's Chronolgy of Opera Performances in Philadelphia (hyperlink in CLORLINK.HTM) Pagliacci was never performed in Philadelphia with this cast. The only performance that I have been able to find with the four singers mentioned was at the MET on 24 June 1970 and I have provisionally assumed that it is this performance that was recorded. As it was not broadcast the recording must have been made «in-house».

------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments:- This recording was attributed by Melodram to San Francisco, but there is no record of a performance of Tosca with this cast in «The San Francisco Opera» by Arthur Bloomfield. However two performances were given with this cast at the MET (22, 26 March 1969), neither of which was broadcast. So this is presumably an «in house» recording as indicated by SS in his review in OPÉRA INTERNATIONAL (vide supra). The CDRS issued by Premiere are included in their «2005 FALL NEW RELEASES». Here the date of the performance recorded is given as «11/26/69».

Comments:- The «On Stage» CDs are labeled as being a recording of a performance in Philadelphia in 1966. However, according to the performance chronology in «Tebaldi - The Voice of an Angel» the only time that Tebaldi, Konya, MacNeil, and Corena sang in Tosca together under Molinari-Pradelli was at the MET between December 31 1969 and January 10 1970 (loc.cit. p.251). The performance on January 10 1970 was broadcast and the recording is presumably of this performance. The CDRs issued by «The Opera Lovers» are listed on the website http://www.operalovers.ca. Here the performance recorded is attributed to the MET on 10 January 1970.

Comments:- It seems likely that this is a recording of part of a performance at the MET on 28 November or 8 December 1970 as these appear to be the only two occasions when these singers sang together at the MET. The role of Amonasro was sung by Cornell MacNeil and Mario Sereni on these dates. The date of February 1970 given by Hunt (A Notable Quartet p.94) appears to be incorrect as according to the «Annals of the Metropolitan Opera» Aida was not performed in that month. The CDs issued by Melodram are listed in Bongiovanni's catalogue (December 1994) p.12. Gala has also issued excerpts with these singers on their CDs entitled «Christa Ludwig - Rarities» (GL 100.596) and assigned them incorrecty to a performance at the MET on 28 February 1970. This mistake probably arose from the eleven being read as a Roman «II» by someone

Comments:- Recording of a performance in the Verona Arena (18 July 1986). The performance on 26 July 1986 is reviewed in OPERA Festival Issue 1986 p.98 where it is stated «Daniel Oren, the announced conductor, failed to appear, and his place was taken at unspecified notice by Enrico De Mori with not entirely felicitous outcome». According to the Programme Book for the 1988 season Enrico De Mori conducted the performances on 26 July, 5 and 8 August 1986.

Comments:- Recording of a performance in the Gran Teatro de Liceo, Barcelona (5 January 1987). The cast listed above is that given in «El Gran Teatro del Liceo» p.513. The CDRs issued by House of Opera were listed in their online catalogue for a short time in March 2003. Here one of cast members was given as (Alberto?) Rinaldi (Amonasro?) and the conductor was given as (Romano?) Gandolfi. The review in OPERA (September 1987 pp.1072-1073) states the «The casting was erratic: two different Radames, three Aidas, and two Kings in five days», but the cast given for the performance on 5 January is the same as that given above. However, the conductor is stated (like by House of Opera) to be Romano Gandolfi.
