Recordings of Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are surveyed in the following publications:-

Comments:- Recording of a performance at the MET (20 January 1934). Both Steiger (Opern: Ein Verzeichnis aller Aufnahmen, 2000) and Ashmam (INTERNATIONAL RECORD REVIEW February 2002 p.29) list an un-numbered UORC recording with this cast and conductor, but attribute it to a performance in San Francisco in 1932. This appears to be a mistake as according to Bloomfield «The San Francisco Opera» pp.385-387 Don Giovanni was not performed at all in San Francisco in 1932

Comments:- Recording of a performance at the MET (6 December 1947). See «Saturday Afternoons at the Old Met» pp.317-318. The recording issued by the GOmega Opera Archive is listed in their online catalogue (see CLORLINK.HTM). The source is described as «Fair to good private acetates. Missing 30 sec Beg. Act 2» and the conductor is incorrectly stated to be «Busch». However, according to «Annals of the Metropolitan Opera» the conductor was Max Rudolf. It is stated in «Saturday Afternoons at the Old Met» (p.317) «the opera was assigned to Busch, but illness compelled him to relinquish it to Max Rudolf». Omega has issued another recording of this performance (480 & 411) and the conductor is listed correctly as Rudolph in their catalogue.
